Hardwood Floor Installation

Hardwood Flooring Installers in Toronto

Choosing and buying a hardwood floor is the easiest part. Unless you are a DIY enthusiast with flooring experience, installing a hardwood floor can be an exercise in frustration and difficulty, not to mention time. Our floor installation experts can make the job so easy for you that all you have to do is relax, let them do the hard work and heavy lifting, and then enjoy your floor.

Hardwood Floor Installation From Start To Finish

Several steps go into the installation of a hardwood floor, and our flooring installation experts will take care of all of them for you.

Inspection

The first step is to take a look at the space and ensure that we know what is needed in order to ensure that the new floor can be installed.

Removal of current floor

In order to install a hardwood floor, we first have to remove the floor that’s already there. This could involve taking up carpet, removing old hardwood, or pulling up floor tiles.

Sub-floor preparation

This important step ensures that your hardwood floor is going to be installed on a surface that is level and solid. It is done either by sanding and leveling the concrete sub-floor or by laying sheets of plywood.

Acoustic underlay installation

Acoustic underlay reduces noises and vibrations that result from walking, thereby creating a quieter home environment, especially if the hardwood is on an upper floor.

Hardwood floor installation

With the preparation done, we are now ready to install your hardwood floor. The method on installation varies depending on the floor, with the most common methods being glue, floating click, and nailing/stapling.

Finishing touches

Some additional services that we offer include the installation of baseboards, quarter round, shoe molding and reducers.

Getting Started

If you haven’t already selected your floor, give us a call or visit our showroom to talk to our experts about what you need. Once your floor has been chosen, our team will visit your home to do an assessment of the space, and we will then put together a detailed project plan and quote. Once you accept the quote, we will schedule a day to come and do the job.

    Why Choose Us?

Several factors set us apart from others when it comes to the installation of hardwood flooring.

    We are professionals

Hardwood Flooring is not the only thing we are good at. We take pride in our transparent processes that ensure that clients have full access to the project plan and timelines, the pricing, and reports of any unforeseen problems that arise. You will not be surprised by unexpected hidden costs, because you will know everything you need to know before we even start.

We make plans and stick to them

Before we start any project, we draw up a detailed plan that includes the costs of labour and material, and adds some contingency to allow for issues that may come up during the project. With everything itemized, you can be assured that there are no hidden charges.

    We show up on time

Unlike many other companies that repeatedly push back the start dates on their projects, we show up on the days we promise. Contingency planning is part of what we do, so even if the project before yours takes longer than expected, this is already built into our plan.

    Advantage of Textured Flooring

There are a number of benefits that go along with choosing wire brushed flooring. One is the unique look it creates. This is very popular in the Canadian market, especially for home or business owners who are trying to create a more European look in their space. When wire brushing is used, all of the sapwood will be scraped away from the top of the planks, which leaves only the hardest wood behind. This provides another benefit, which is an increase in overall durability of the hardwood. Since the surface is already distressed, the damage that may occur due to pet claws and furniture legs will typically just blend in.

Care and Maintenance of Wire Brushed Hardwood

Since the wood has more natural crevices and nooks exposed on the surface, the wire brushed plank can often be more difficult to clean than other hardwood options. It is a good idea to clean the planks regularly to minimize the occurrence of sticky areas or compressed dirt, which can make cleaning even more challenging. Also, if you are going to refinish the surface of this flooring, you need to do so carefully. If it is not done properly, it can destroy the look of the wire brushed surface. Be sure to learn the proper methods, or hire someone for assistance to ensure the refinished floor will retain the original texture and look of the flooring.

Take some time to browse the various hardwood flooring options. Doing so will help you find a style and look you appreciate. Also, learning about care, maintenance and cost can help you narrow down the flooring that is right for your home or business. Wire brushed flooring may not be right for everyone, but if you are looking for something unique, you will likely love this variety.
